About Kaila

Originally from the northern suburbs of Chicago, I moved to Texas to attend Baylor University where I obtained both my Bachelor and Master of Social Work degrees. I spent two years living in Galveston, TX before making the move back to central Texas to be in Austin.

I believe in a client-centered, culturally-sensitive, and strengths-based approach to therapy. I have worked in and for school districts throughout my career, giving me unique insights into the inner workings of school systems and their impact on children and families. I have extensive experience with Child-Centered Play Therapy, Trust-Based Relational Intervention, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and tailor my approach to the individual needs of every client. I am passionate about incorporating the outdoors into therapy and frequently use elements of adventure therapy in treatment. I am also bilingual and am able to offer services fully in Spanish.

I live in central Austin with my husband and our dog, Bella. When not working, I love to run, attend concerts, bake sourdough, and try all the delicious Tex-Mex Austin has to offer.
